Today we're going to be taking a look at part number KS60042C, this is a case retro replacement side mirror. It does feature the electric function as well as the heated function. Nice black plastic housing and this is for the drivers side of your vehicle. It's going to fit the 1996-1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The side view mirror is going to be a direct replacement for the drivers side factory mirror on your vehicle. This is going to be molded after the manufacturers original look and fit. It does feature the power remote capability.
That way you can adjust the mirror face position with the factory power controls from inside the vehicle. The heated mirror glass is going to clear frost and ice as well as reduce fogging. It has the OE grade flat glass with first surface plating that's going to reflect clear images. The front of the glass is plated with reflective chrome and the flat lens reflects true representation of the object size. One of the neat features about it, it has the spring loaded break away design. So the mirror will fold when struck to prevent from breaking. The spring loaded mechanism is going to push the mirror back to the original position after it encounters being hit.
So if I let go of it, it goes back into the original position. Again we're going to have the black durable plastic housing. Nice black finish. It's an easy no drill installation. The mounting location over here, its going to use the same mounting foot print as your factory mirror. So the mirrors going to fit perfectly and then you have the electrical side of it that's going to plug directly into the existing electrical wiring. The OE equipment number is part number 55154803 and with this part number your going to get one mirror for the drivers side.
Now a couple of notes to keep in mind. The power remote capability and heated glass of the mirror will work only if your vehicle already had those functions. And this mirror does not support the memory function. That's going to do it for today's review of part number KS60042C.
